TMCI "Marble Artist of the Month" Andrew Brown

After graduating with a B.F.A. in illustration from the Savannah College of Art & Design in 1998, Andrew Brown moved to Albuquerque, N. M. and has since started two successful glass art businesses.

Andrew is well known for his innovative approach to contemporary flameworking. Combining classic cold-working techniques with nontraditional flameworking, he specializes in unique wearable art. Collectible marbles and paperweights featuring electroforming and extensive cold working are among his most recent works, as is pioneering a new process of kiln-fusing, slumping and casting borosilicate glass. 

Andrew’s work is featured in galleries and exhibits around the world as well as in bead and glass art publications. Drawing his inspiration from nature and his surroundings, Andrew continues working to push and test the limits of what this medium has to offer.
